Place-based learning through cemeteries offers unique opportunities for students to honor and connect with our veterans and veterans' families. Students placed flags and butterflies at veteran graves in the Rose (Hill) Cemetery, left notes of thanks and appreciation for veteran descendants, engaged in oral history through our guest speaker, Ms. Joanne Hayes-Murray, and offered service through headstone cleaning.
